Chief Customer Officer, Consumer and Wealth
Andrew was appointed Chief Customer Officer, Consumer Banking and Wealth Management in August 2016. In this role he is responsible for all of NAB’s Retail Branches, Direct Banking, Broker Partnerships, UBank, Wealth Advice and Insurance businesses. Andrew joined NAB in 2008 to lead the Private & Institutional Wealth business. In May 2009, Andrew was appointed Executive General Manager of MLC & NAB Wealth's insurance business. In October 2010, Andrew joined the Executive Leadership Team and was appointed Group Executive, Corporate Affairs & Marketing, before taking up the expanded position of Group Executive, People, Marketing & Communications in October 2011. Since March of 2013, Andrew has led NAB's wealth businesses including his role as CEO of MLC, Chairman of JBWere, in addition to leading the creation of Australia's largest retail superannuation fund, MLC Super Fund, and leadership responsibilities with Plum, JANA, and NAB Financial Planning. Prior to joining NAB, Andrew spent 21 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in a number of capacities, including Melbourne Managing Partner and as a member of PwC's Firmwide Leadership Team.
He is currently Chair of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre Appeal Executive Committee.
CEO, MLC Super
Matthew was appointed Chief Executive Officer of MLC Super and Executive General Manager, NAB Wealth in April 2017.
Matthew has occupied senior positions in finance and banking over 20 years. Since he joined NAB in 2005, Matthew has led large operational and transformational teams across Wealth, Finance, Technology and Operations, most recently on the NAB Executive Leadership Team as Chief Technology and Operations Officer (Acting).
In 2015-16, Matthew led one of the largest consolidations in the Wealth sector; the streamlining of NAB’s superannuation businesses, to create Australia’s largest retail superannuation fund.
Prior to joining NAB, Matthew held senior finance and transformation roles at Woolworths (2002-2005) and Qantas (1996-2001), after having started his career as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young.
EGM, Asset Management
Garry has overall responsibility for leading the NAB asset management business. Originally joining MLC in 1991, which was subsequently acquired by the NAB Group in 2000, Garry has held a number of senior roles in both Australia and the UK in Product Management, Distribution and General Management. Garry has been a Director of a number of NAB Group companies covering both Banking and Wealth Management and is currently Director of several NAB Asset Management boutique partners and NAB related boards. He holds a BA in Economics.
General Manager, Advice
Ross Barnwell joined NAB in 2012, to drive a consumer centric strategy and culture across the business. In December 2017, Ross was appointed General Manager, NAB Advice - Overseeing and transforming a portfolio that encompasses the operational areas of Advice across the NAB owned Licensees, from client engagement to monitoring & supervision and future state design.
Prior to this Ross held the position of General Manager - MLC Advice Partnerships from April 2014, where he was responsible for the NAB Wealth portfolio of advice businesses including Garvan, MLC Financial Planning, Apogee Financial Planning, Meritum Financial Group, MLC Advice and Godfrey Pembroke.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the wealth industry, covering both retail and institutional markets.
Ross holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments. He holds various positions on a number advice and investment boards. Ross’ strategic thinking and client-centric focus are a real asset to the NAB team.
